AMSTERDAM

Stopped in Amsterdam for a quick 3 day trip. Ive only heard about the city but didn’t know what to expect! Absolutely loved the beautiful historic homes alongside the canals.

The best thing to do here is get lost in the city! Thats where you will find an amazing food scene, great boutiques, parks, even just walking over the canals is amazing.

We flew in and just took the day to explore the city. I didn’t realize how cold it gets here! BURR! So make sure you check the weather. We flew from iceland so luckily we had winter gear on us. We stayed in a little airbnb on a quaint little alley/street that was super close to the Rijksmuseum! That was the main must-do on our trip.

Inside our airbnb! Near Jordaan is a great area! The stairs little go straight up like a ladder so be careful with your luggage!

If you’ve heard the term “city of bikes” - it is absolutely true! They also really don't lock up their bikes too.

For some top city views check out the W hotel and their cocktail bar called Mr. Porter. Located on the top floor this was great for amazing views and great vibes!

Rijksmuseum

I will say this museum is totally worth it! (Also on the other side of the building is the famous I AMSTERDAM sign- so make sure you check it out!) Dedicated to arts and history, this massive museum apparently will take you a week to see everything! We worked our way through the museum (getting lost of course) seeing all the stunning artwork eventually making our way to the main attraction- one of Rembrandts most famous piece, the Night Watch located in the great hall. It wasn’t busy for us at all but I have heard you can barely get inside to see it.

Created in 1642 Rembrandt’s “The Night Watch” People will spend about an hour and a half in front of this painting!
